Kevin and fellow Bordinos manager Erin Vonfeldt have a friendly argument as to who is the longest serving employee for Joe Fennel. Kevin started in 1998 as a server for Joe’s first restaurant, the iconic Jose’s on Dickson Street, working part-time while attending the University. He moved to Bordinos in 2006 when the restaurant opened its present location.
Kevin is a self-described Air Force brat, born in Florida and living in Germany and stateside military bases before his father was transferred to Arkansas. He holds an associate degree in CAD design and has completed credits toward a mechanical engineering degree, but he’s pursing his early passion for the restaurant business.
As Bar Manager, he’s responsible for stocking the bar, managing and training bartenders, and making sure everyone follows the drink recipes that bring the regulars back. Some of those recipes include infused drinks, such as the cherry-infused rye whiskey, cucumber-infused tequila and pepper-infused vodka.
Favorite Bordinos entrée: “Probably the Chicken Marsala.”
Favorite Bordinos beverage: “I’m sort of a Miller Lite guy and really not much of a drinker, but I do enjoy an occasional martini made with Tito Vodka, a light dusting of olive juice, and no vermouth.”
Favorite thing about Bordinos: “It’s the structure. Everyone here is well trained and they have a passion for creating an outstanding dining experience.“
